Mynagapally is a grama panchayat located in the Kunnathur taluk of Kollam district in Kerala State, it is part of Sasthamcotta block panchayat and was established in 1953


Mynagappally shares its southern border with Thevalakkara Panchayat, its North side with Sooranad panchayat , east side with Sasthamcotta panchayat and west side with Thodiyur Panchayat


Its belived that , The name Mynagappally is derived from the mythological allusion to the place where Mount Mainaka rested on the journey.

Mynagappally village is the largest in Kunnathur Taluk and one of the most populous villages in the Kunnathur assembly constituency with a a population of 39336 as per the 2001 census, with 19207 men and 20129 females.

The topography and geography are similar throughout the area ; it has both low and high terrain, as well as various wetlands . Mynagappally village's socio-economic situation is very steady, every one lives here peacefully with communal harmony and love In this panchayat, there are seven cashew industries, as well as brick and tile manufacturers, a coir business, and a matchbox factory. There are four major markets
